"Since Eli communicates in English at an intermediate level, our time together is focused on advancing her conversational ease. Each week, we discuss various topics, always working to expand her vocabulary and comprehension.

We’ve also worked on her professional development, including updating her resume and writing cover letters. Recently, we started reading our first English novel! It’s a challenge, but it’s so rewarding and fun to work through it together.

The tutor program provides students with an outlet to feel more comfortable using English in their daily lives. As more time is spent together, the student becomes more open to learning and trying new things.
